WSOP 2006
In 2004 Harrahs Entertainment purchased Binions Horseshoe casino and in the process became owners of the WSOP competition. Harrahs is an enourmous entertainment company owning many of the properties on the Las Vegas Strip. In 2005 they decided to host the tournament across a number of their establishments including Binions, Caesars Palace and the Rio Hotel. The Rio will play host to the major 2006 events starting with satellite entry games from June 25th leading to the main competition held June 28th through to August 10th inclusive.

In 2006 WSOP officials announced the competition will have a limit of 8,000 players in the main event with the first prize estimated to be $10m and of course the all important World Series Bracelet. The winner of the main event walks away with a completely custom designed unique bracelet.

Andy Bloch
A regular at final tables, Andy won his first ever game of Texas Holdem Poker. Andy is a WSOP and WPT final table attendee often seen on ESPN and the Travel Channel. Andy passed the bar and has a legal degree he's never applied!
Chris Ferguson
Chris Ferguson is the 2001 WSOP tournament winner and the man behind the idea of Full Tilt Poker. He has a Ph.D from UCLA and applies his considerable mind to poker. Primarily a tournament player Chris usually plays out of Los Angeles.
Clonie Gowan
No woman has ever won the WSOP main event, but Clonie is one of the most experienced players in the ladies game. She is a magazine writer, a poker school teacher, and devotes time to the United States Poker Association.
Erick Lundren
Ultra conservative Swedish player Eric Lundren has a unique but successful style, and he holds a WSOP bracelet from 2003. Eric took the Party Poker Million III. A regular final table player.
Eric Seidel
Erik Seidel is a veteran poker player and many time winner of WSOP bracelets. He's a champion Backgammon player as well as a world class poker champion. Erik can be found playing most nights at Full Tilt Poker.
Howard Lederer
Known as the professor of poker, Howard is one of the most thoughtful players on the poker circuit. Howard is a poker veteran with WSOP, WPT and is a 2 time Hall of Fame winner. Howard produces instructional videos on a regular basis - all are worth viewing.
Jennifer Harman
Jennifer Harman is a 2 time winner of WSOP events and on that basis is the best female player of the game today. She is a master of game theory and when you know that she co-authored the Super System 2 book, you know she's a poker genius.
John Juanda
John Juanda is a calculating poker player with a quiet manner and unassuming exterior. Don't be fooled - he's an MBA with three WSOP bracelets who was named tournament player of the year in 2001.
Phil Gordon
Phil Gordon is known primarily as a poker author and presenter. His speciality, and the game he writes about is No Limit Texas Holdem with an emphasis on the practicalities of day to day play. Phil finished 4th in the 2001 in his first WSOP event.
